Course Modules

Module 1 – Early Stages & Navigating the 8 Key Phases

Starting a blended family can feel chaotic. This module provides your first toolkit to calm the storm. Learn to accept the challenges, set clear boundaries, and establish family rules that work for everyone, regardless of circumstances. We’ll focus on helping step-parents find their footing and supporting children through change, maintaining stability where possible. Replace anger and upset with hope and understanding, and begin crafting your unique blueprint for a harmonious family.

The mid-stages bring ups and downs, and communication becomes crucial. Sometimes it’s positive, sometimes it leads to more conflict, disrupting the home. Better solutions mean more peace for all.

Testimonials

“I was pleasantly surprised to feel like The Blended Blueprint was completely speaking to me and putting words to the issues happening in our family. It gave me a whole new understanding to what I was experiencing as a bio-parent and how walk the fine line between my new wife and my kids.”

– Walter | Palo Alto

“We went through the pre-martial [Blended Blueprint] course for 6 weeks with six 1:1 sessions and we feel much more aligned heading into our marriage. My husband learned how to support me [stepparent], in regards to managing my hurt emotions his children can accidently create, and I now understand what supporting his parenting means. We feel we get the reality of blending a family and are more prepared to meet the challenges. We’ve already purchased The Brief Blended Blueprint as resource to have in our back-pockets for the future. Thank you, Julee!”

– Tina | Huntington Beach

The course [Brief Blended blueprint] laid out our family structure and what was happening, it immediately helped me feel better about our marriage and helped align my husband and I on how to handle moving forward.”

FAQs

How do I know if I should use the online course or need couple’s therapy?

Are you struggling in your blended family? Are you confused about the intense emotions happening and the mixed communications that occur? One thing is for sure, if you’re going to blend successfully, you’ll need to be intentional about making that happen. By investing in The Blended Blueprint, you’ll get the expert knowledge you need and have been searching for. It’s like getting the blueprint plans for the home you want to build versus the home you just sold.  Couples in repetitive negative patterns of relating/fighting need the professional intervention of weekly therapy. Couples that are able to communicate, and are working together can utilize The Blended Blueprint courses on their own.  The Blended Blueprint courses are designed to stand alone or be beneficial to any therapy or coaching.

What’s the difference between fighting and domestic violence/intimate partner violence and does therapy help domestic violence?
  • While all relationships are different the biggest factor is feeling safe in your home and without fear. Blended families have the insider/outsider dynamic causing stepparents to feel like they don’t belong, but does not leave them feeling unsafe with their partner or others in the home.
  • Couple’s therapy will not help domestic violence – interpersonal therapy, anger management, cognitive behavioral therapy are types of therapy recommended for the violent partner to break their cycle. PTSD, cognitive behavioral therapy are types of therapy that can help victims of intimate partner violence. The National Domestic Violence Hotline is 1-800-799-7233 or text BEGIN to 88788, the National Domestic Violence website is thehotline.org
